Gulmeher is a women’s collective of waste pickers turned artisans, situated in the slum colony of Ghazipur, East Delhi. The collective creates livelihood opportunities for women, by making upcycled, handcrafted products.

Studies show that 95% of the textiles that are land filled each year could be recycled but only 1% of our clothing is ultimately recycled. The katrans(discarded fabric /scrap) are collected from export houses, buying houses, textile factories and tailoring shops which are painstakingly sorted as per size, print and embroidery.
